"Who is Archippus?"
And say to Archippus, "Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you." (Colossians 4:17) I asked the children Sunday morning if they knew anyone named, Archippus. They didn’t. I don’t know anyone with that name either. However Paul did. And, he wrote to encourage him to complete the ministry that the Lord had chosen for him. None of us are named Archippus, but still the Lord has chosen us, and chosen a ministry for each one of us to complete. If Paul were writing a letter today to Walnut Street Baptist Church he would call us out by name and exhort us to seek out, take heed, and see to it, that we fulfill God’s chosen ministry for our life God’s plan is that every member do their part, exercising their gift of ministry through the local church. Members of Walnut Street Baptist Church are called by God to complete their ministry through Walnut Street Baptist Church. It is God’s plan that the local church, Walnut Street Baptist Church, be supported by His tithes and our offerings so that we can individually and together fulfill God’s chosen ministry for us. There has been a lot of sickness during the month of January and the weather has been down right frigid.. As a result many have been unable to attend. If we are sick and if getting out is dangerous I suggest we stay home. However, the expenses of ministry continue. During January we have been unable to meet all of our ministry expenses. Without your consistent financial support through the General Fund we cannot fulfill our ministry. Let us heed Paul’s exhortation and be sure and carry out the ministry the Lord has given us through Walnut Street Baptist Church. We Labor Together With God, |
