"Blue Monday"
I recently read where Monday, January 18th was the most depressing day of the year. According to a British Consulting company, First Care, January 18th, called "Blue Monday" was the most depressing day of the year for workers with Christmas debt, cold weather, and far off paydays. I’m not quite sure that you can designate one particular day that way. However I do know that a lack of sunshine and gloomy dismal days do take their toll on the perkiest of us. In honor of "Blue Monday" I offer a few chuckles to brighten up your day: Curiosity: A teacher was finishing up a lesson on the joys of discovery and the importance of curiosity. "Where would we be today," she asked, "if no one had ever been curious?" one child quietly spoke up form the back of the room. "In the garden of Eden." Sounds Like ... There was this lady who was visiting a church for the first time one Sunday. The sermon seemed to go on forever, and many in the congregation actually fell asleep. After the service, to be social, she walked up to a very sleepy looking gentleman, extended her hand in greeting, and said, "Hello, I’m Gladys Dunn." The man replied, "You’re not the only one, ma’am. I’m glad it’s done, too." It’s What He Said: My 17 year old niece asked me if she could use my name as a reference on her resume, which she planed to submit to a local fast food restaurant. I agreed. A few days later she called and asked me to meet her at the restaurant later that afternoon. When I asked her why, she replied, "The manager wants me to come for an interview, and she told me to bring my references." We Labor Together With God, |
